The Future of Moonlight Grove
Heya, folks! January here!
First off, it's been kinda wild how much attention this little game has been getting, especially considering that it was only ever intended to be a proof of concept. I originally just wanted to conduct an experiment, to see if I could finish something in Twine if I gave myself a tiny enough scope, and made this in a little over two hours. The itch page was basically just so I had an easy way to show it to friends. But, in the two weeks it's been up, it's gotten over a hundred views, almost catching up with our main project, Hard Reset.
We do really like this concept, of a 2nd person interactive fiction game with a focus on nonhuman personhood and immersive imagery, with just a dash of surrealism. While I'm not comfortable making any promises, I do plan to do further experimentation with Twine to learn more about how to use it, such as experimentation with variables and such. I can't make any promises, but in future, there may be an expanded-upon version of Moonlight Grove at some point down the line.
The last thing I want to talk about is that I've been hearing about how folks have been reacting to this story, how it's affected a couple of folks, and it's enormously touching and flattering. I give my thanks to everyone that's shared this with folks, or just played and enjoyed it. It means a lot to me that my writing means a lot to you.
So, thank you, kind strangers, for your time and support.
